Osmosi Plexiglass marks a new chapter in Emmanuel Babled’s iconic Osmosi series. For the first time, hand-blown Murano glass and solid acrylic enter into dialogue, creating a union between two materials that appear to flow seamlessly into one another.
Like water and liquid colour mixed with extreme precision, glass and plexiglass become inseparable, shaping forms defined by lightness, transparency, and purity. Their encounter produces an almost immaterial presence, where boundaries disappear and matter is suspended in a state of perfect balance.
Crafted in collaboration with master artisans Alfio Maci and Emilio Sampietro, the work embodies Babled’s ongoing exploration of symbiosis — between materials, techniques, and the hands that shape them. In Osmosi Plexiglass, this encounter is crystallized into a permanent state, immortalizing a fleeting moment of fusion and harmony.
