Emmanuel Babled and Venini will present a joint exhibition on the project Pyros during the Venice Glass Week:
10th to 17th of September 2017, 10 AM – 7 PM,
opening 10th of September, 6.30 PM
Spazio Venini Venezia, San Marco 314,
Piazzeta Leoncini, Venice
The venue is presenting a selection of works in glass from the Pyros project, together with a video by director Marco Sweering, illustrating the spectacular technique of production.
Pyros is a series of Murano glass objects, designed by Emmanuel Babled and produced by VENINI in Murano, Italy. A limited edition of three special series, named Stellati, Marini and Notturni, was created for this exhibition, where the designer played with different techniques.
The series is a perfect symbiosis between the know-how of the master craftsmen of VENINI and the creativity of the designer. Each Pyros is a unique artwork that symbolizes a unique day at VENINI, with its masters, colors and contemporary inspiration.
Special attention will be given to a single transparent piece, Pyros Acromatico, contrasting with the rest of the colorful collection. This unique piece illustrates the restrictions to glass components that today threaten the Murano color Palette: Emmanuel Babled is actively engaged with institutions and universities in promoting research in glass coloring as well as composition to contribute to the evolution of this Venetian art.
The Pyros project will also mark its presence at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi with an installation:
September, 10th – 17th, 10 AM – 8 PM
Calle del Fontego dei Tedeschi, Rialto Bridge, Venice
